THE SALOON
A moment to unwind in the city.
At THE SALOON in Yoyogi-Uehara, choose from banoffee pie, Bakewell tart and scones alongside coffee. This cafe-bar offers plenty of ways to pair a sweet treat with a drink.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A generous slice of toffee-rich banoffee pie with coffee makes a tempting reason to pause at THE SALOON. One visitor found the pie particularly memorable for its plentiful toffee and its coarse, toasted, oat-like crust. The menu lists “Our Famous Banoffee Pie,” available by the 1 slice or as a whole pie.
For a different kind of British bake, there is also Bakewell tart. A diner described it as a tart made with homemade jam and mixed citrus, noting the fragrant almond filling and soft texture. Scones are another good match for coffee. One guest ordered an Americano with a white-mould cheese scone, praising the cheese’s gentle flavour and the scone’s crisp yet crumbly texture. They enjoyed it with clotted cream and coffee.
Coffee options include espresso, Americano and hand-drip, as well as milk-based lattes and cappuccinos. One review describes the Americano as a deep medium roast: clean and easy to drink, with a hint of berry sweetness in the finish. There is pleasure in choosing a cup to go with a bake. For something sweet, another diner mentions a firm-textured pudding served with bittersweet caramel and smooth whipped cream. Drinks beyond coffee include black sesame and kinako lattes, along with a coffee and banana smoothie.
This cafe-bar is on floor 3 of a building in Yoyogi-Uehara, with daytime and evening hours varying by day. It is open from 12:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 19:00 until 1:00 the following day on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It suits an afternoon coffee and bake as well as an evening drink.
